About Chadkirk Festival

Chadkirk Chapel and Country Estate is a beautiful rural retreat in the heart of the Goyt Valley just outside Romiley, Stockport. It is home to a 14th century chapel, St. Chad’s Well, a 17th century farmhouse, an enchanting Victorian walled garden, 60 acres of farmland and ancient woodland.

Each year, Chadkirk proudly opens its chapel doors and grounds for its popular festival, commencing with the blessing of St. Chad’s Well. The well dressing at St. Chad’s Well is an old tradition and is one of the only events of its type outside of the Peak District.  

This year’s festival promises a weekend of live music, shows, falconry, willow weaving workshops, talks and demonstrations, puppet shows and a fantastic fair of craft and handmade goods. You can pick up everything from locally produced honey and beeswax candles to handmade textiles, jewellery, woodturned gifts, organic fruit, vegetables, cakes and biscuits. There will also be information stalls on local conservation and heritage.
